Apprenticeship & Training

Careers in the Wisconsin Pipe Trades Association provide industry leading wages and benefits, along with life-long education and leaning opportunities. Our 5-Year WPTA Apprenticeship Programs are the pathway for individuals who are beginning their careers.

What is Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship is Post-Secondary Education that is Registered with Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the UA Department of Labor. Our WPTA Apprenticeship Programs are challenging and highly technical in nature, with training being delivered through a combination of Related Classroom Instruction and On-The-Job Training.

Our state-wide network of privately funded WPTA Training Centers is affiliated with the Wisconsin Technical College System and Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor Michigan. Because of this, our WPTA Apprenticeships are a pathway to 2-year to 4-year college degrees, without the need to rack up enormous amounts of college debt. Instead WPTA Apprentices are employed and earn wages while learning in the classroom on the job. Our progressive wage schedule guarantees that the wages for WPTA Apprentices increase along with their knowledge, skill, and abilities.

Advanced Training & Certifications
Technology continuously drives change in the unionized piping industry. WPTA members enjoy exclusive access to our privately funded training centers, where they upgrade their skills and receive training in the newest technologies. Our Certification programs guarantee that WPTA members have the knowledge and skills necessary to do the job right and to do it safely!
